Service Boys at your service

Nicholas is part of the Andersen’s Action Adventure Family. He is an IT Consultant and he love sports.

During the briefing for the one week action of their family, he got challenged by our story that so far, only one Dane had succeeded in climbing Ponderosa Golf Course which is situated 2,000 feet above sea level. That the Dane was a woman who only took two short rest stops before finally reaching the top. He was intrigued by the fact that many guests  have tried to climb  this on their mountain bikes but ended up walking instead with their bikes alongside them. Ponderosa Golf Course is located in  Sitio Minolo. It is 8 kms away from the town of Puerto Galera with 3 of those kilometers a steep climb up to the mountain.

Nicholas on the uphill climb to Ponderosa.

The mountain bike challenge started last Monday at 10:15am. From Puerto Galera pier, Nicholas and his father Poul started biking. On the way up to golf course, Poul managed 200 meters before finally giving up. Maj-Britt took Poul’s bike but she also gave up after 300 meters. She then settled running after Nicholas who  was still on his bike and giving him water to drink from time to time.

Nicholas took 1 minute rest when he got half way up. He looked very tired but you could see in his eyes the determination  to  bike all the way to the top. At 11:45, Nicholas successfully reached the golf course with the help of his family’s chanting and motivation.

Facing his fear of heights, Nicholas climbs a 20 meter coconut.

Back at the resort, Nicholas shared that he was afraid of heights and wanted to overcome it. That was when the Activity guys offered  him the “Pick your coconut”. They chose a 20 meter high coconut tree at the beach front. In spite of his shaking knees and   a few bruises on his legs,  Nicholas managed to climb all the way to the top of the coconut tree and overcame his fear of heights. Mabuhay, Mr. Tough Guy
