Ole reading the thank you cards from the children and having the puto and suman.

Ole and Vibeke Andersen first came to Coco Beach in 1987  and have been coming back here every year with their long time friend Ole and Lis Jensen.  Each time they visit,  they  always have something for the children living in the island.

During their 25th visit,  they donated chairs and beautiful stuffed toys to the pupils of  the Holy Family Day Care Center in Aguada, Puerto Galera. The schoolchildren and the teachers were very ecstatic upon  receiving these unexpected gifts from Ole and Vibeke.  To express their gratitude, the  children  gifted them  with home made rice cakes,  locally known as “puto” and  “suman”,  glutinous rice wrapped in banana leaves  and boiled in coconut milk. Ole and Vibeke were thinking of bringing it back to Denmark with them. But these rice cakes wouldn’t last the journey, nothing left to do but eat and enjoy the children’s gift to them. Aside from the rice cakes, the children also made thank you notes for them. A gesture like this wouldn’t go unnoticed to these sweet and thankful children.

Aside from the  gifts of toys ands school chairs,  Ole and  Vibeke sponsored  the college education of the two sons of one of the resort’s  Service Mama. This is  something very special for the family and the gesture will be forever remembered.

To you Ole and Vibeke...we thank you for  having such kind and generous souls. God bless you both and MABUHAY!
