As you already know from our previews issues of the newsletter, we have 112 turtle eggs waiting to hatch. Sunday morning the first 3 turtles hatched. We were checking the nest early morning (like we do every day) but there was nothing… suddenly at 10 AM 3 small turtles were crawling around in the sand. Those 3 most have been way ahead of the others, because we are still waiting for them to hatch. But we are sure it is only a matter of days before they all come out to meet the world. Hopefully we can show you the new babies in the next newsletter.
The first 3 new baby hawksbill sea turtles.
One of the babies already got a name… Speedy. He/she never stays still. It’s always moving around while in the basin or when you hold it.
Speedy… having a hard time to hold still. 4 years in a row Iain and Marielou discovered Coco Beach and Coco Divers in July 2005, and since their first vacation here, they spend at least 2 weeks every July here in the resort. It is not the entire friendly atmosphere around the resort that keeps them coming back… but most of all it is the diving that brings them down year after year. They both work in Qatar and the only time of the year they have a chance to escape from the heat, is in July.
Marielou and Iain coming up after another of their many dives.
During their first visit they took their Advanced Open Water Diver course, and since that time, they make a new course every year. So now they already have a Nitrox specialty course and a Deep Diver specialty course. This year they are going for the Drift Diver specialty course, the Emergency First Respond (EFR) and the Rescue Diver course. So next year they only need 2 specialties to become Master Scuba Divers… The highest PADI ranking within recreational diving. Beside the courses they also make 2 to 3 dives every day, they can just not get enough of our beautiful dive sites. New Open Water Divers Leif, Sanne and their daughter Isabella decided to come to Coco Beach and make their Open Water Diver course before they went for 1 week cruising onboard Hans Christian Andersen. The best thing about this story is that Isabella just turned 10 years and the whole family was waiting for that day where she could join a full Open Water Diver course. She has been studying hard to pass all the tests and in the water she swims like a fish. Thursday morning they all made their final dive before they went onboard the ship.

A big congratulation from all of us at Coco Divers... Well done Isabella (and mom and dad of course too).
