Coco Beach Joins Earth Hour

Coco Children ready with their candles for Earth Hour

Last Saturday, March 27, Coco Beach Island Resort together with its guests and staff joined in the one hour celebration of Earth Hour during the Clambake Party at the beach.

At 7pm, the Clambake Party started with cocktails at Palmera Garden. Then by 7:30 they moved to beachfront and the dining staff started serving soup while the Coco Band played a variety of catchy tunes.

Torches light the Clambake Party during the Earth Hour

At exactly 8:30, all lights in the resort were turned off one by one until the entire place was in darkness. As the last of the lights were turned off, a group of young boys and girls, the children of the Coco Beach family, paraded down the beach from Carabao Restaurant all dressed in white. In their hands they carried lighted candles inside recycled glass jars and placed each and every lamp on the tables as the guests ate their dinner. As they moved to the stage, the guests clapped their hands as the children went around with the lamps. The dining staff then started lighting bamboo torches all around the place and guests were treated to a very quiet dinner with only candles and torches giving the place a soft yellow glow. The Coco Band then played acoustic music while the guests enjoyed themselves.

At exactly 9:30, the lights went back on in the resort and the Puerto Galera National High School Dance Company started their performance. Around 104 guests joined in the Earth Hour Celebration at Coco Beach that night.

Blue Moon Party

The Blue Moon Party

Last Tuesday, March 30, was another Full Moon Party for the month of March. It is quite special as we celebrated two Full Moon Parties in one month which is why the party was called the Full Moon Blue Moon Party!

About thirty guests joined the party and really enjoyed the special mixed drinks prepared by Barracuda Bartender Willy. Lots of finger foods were served that night as reggae music played all night long. Guests also enjoyed watching a special bonfire constructed over the water.

Drinks are served in coconut shells

By 12 midnight, the Full Moon Blue Moon Party continued in Barracuda Bar where Willy served more cocktail drinks, more reggae music and guests danced till early morning.

For those who missed this special Full Moon Party, don’t worry as there will be another one on April 28 here at Coco Beach and the next Blue Moon Party will be in August! Hope to see you all then.

Woerner’s Whole Day Adventure

Last week, the Woerner couple and their children had a great whole day adventure with the Activity guides.

Matthias & Elisabeth Woerner and their four children Nadine, Kirsten, Jonathan and Benjamin are from Germany and as it was their first time here at Coco beach Island Resort, the whole family spent an entire week of their vacation in the resort. During they stay here at Coco Beach, they did a lot of activities including water sports, snorkeling, and beach hopping for a whole day of adventure, fun and enjoyment.

Their adventure trip started at 9:30 am when they took a boat to Puerto Galera and then took a jeepney ride all the way to Tukuran in the town of San Teodoro where they transferred to a carabao cart. On their way to Tukuran, the Woerners traveled along the coastline, enjoying the panoramic view of Puertto Galera. Along the way, they passed by Tamarraw Falls and after an hour reached Tukuran where they road on a wooden cart pulled by a carabo for 30 minutes until they reached Tukuran Lagoon. At the lagoon, they went swimming in the clear, cold and refreshing water they enjoyed swimming and the and had a barbeque lunch in one of the huts surrounding the lagoon. After lunch, their adventure continued on with an hour of kayaking downstream on the Jungle River of San Teodoro before heading back to Coco Beach.

On their last night at the resort, the Woerner family joined the Clambake Party at the beach and enjoyed great tasting seafood as they watched the performances of the Puerto Galera National High School Dance Company. And for one hour, the Woerners also enjoyed a quiet dinner as Earth Hour started at 8:30 pm until 9:30 pm when the entire resort turned off its lights in celebration of this annual event.
