Thomas Friedrich Group

The whole gang at the beach before sunset while enjoying their happy hour drinks

Last week, a group of 23 guests fro Germany had a great holiday with us. Namely Thomas & Sabine Friedrich, Wolfgang & Anita Graupner, Lothar & Renate Geissler, Jurgen & Barbara Hensel, Frank & Monika Telle, Bernd & Dorothee Fisher, Peter, Eva, Gunther & Irmgard Witt, Berndt & Elke Scholler, Marianne Weck, Angela Matzold, Styfferth Harry, Karin Rothe and Lina Wild.

All of them were first timer except couple Thomas & Sabine who been here 3 times already. Their last visit is 2006 were they have 25 guests on that time.

Dancing on the stage during their Barbecue Dinner at the beach

While in the tropics, the group did lots of snorkeling, boat rides to other beautiful coves, joined in frog race and cockfighting on the table. On their last night, they had a BBQ dinner on the beach. During their special dinner Puerto Galera National High School’s Dance Troupe and Coco Band entertained them with good music and great dance numbers. Some of them were only too happy to dance with the entertainers on the stage.

According to them, this is their first time but absolutely not the last. Everything in Coco Beach is beautiful and perfect. Last Thursday they board on HCA for a week cruise but promise to comeback next time.

Valentine’s Day Party

The audience looks on as the dance troupe performs another number while heart-shaped banners hang above.

Love is all around Coco Beach as everyone celebrated Valentine’s Day, a day for love and lovers. We even had cheesy hearts hanging matched with beautiful love songs. If doesn’t set the romantic mood, what will? Ok, next time we’ll also invite Cupid if he’s not too busy...

Cocktails were served at the beach. Alas, they could not escape the cheesy hearts hanging. Love is in the air!

To celebrate Valentine’s, a special Valentine’s Day Dinner party was held at the Palmera Garden. The kitchen staffs cooked heart-stopping foods like clams thermidore, cream of tomato, salad ala valentine, beetroot salad, surf and turf (grilled steak & prawns) as main course and desserts special.

No longer red nor shaped like a suit of a card, the brown coconut went around until it reached the winner of the Coconut game.

The party started seven in the evening with cocktails by the beach. The drinks are special coco love punch, local mixed drinks and fruit juices for the children. While enjoying their amorous dinner, the guests were entertained by the performances of Puerto Galera National High School’s Dance Troupe and Coco Band. The show was filled with romantic songs to set the mood and mixed with dance music to get the 161 guest up on their feet and dancing! Hope you all had a happy Valentine’s Day!

 Snorkeling Tour

The first of 2 big boats during the Snorkeling tour headed for their first stop - Long Beach.

A group of 22 Coco Beach guests from Denmark, Australia, Spain and Peru explored the beautiful coves and beaches of Puerto Galera with Activity Guide Darwin and Elian.

From Denmark, Simonsen’s Morten, Anja, Kasper & Nanna, Christiansen’s Ole, Helle, Rasmus & Maria, Ibsen family Keld, Vibeke, Anne-Sofie, Rasmus and Mathias, couple Peter & Christina Kuhn, Christian Storm, Torben Jorgensen, Australian/Peru couple Michael & Cynthia Ferguson, and from Spain Miguel Zaballa and his boys Lucas & Tirso.

The second boat of swimmers

At 9:30 in the morning, the group left Coco Beach by boat going to Long Beach for their first destination were they enjoyed the coral garden and coral fishes. Also known as Coral Garden, this is one of the perfect spots for snorkeling and fish feeding. Bring some bread and the fishes will be eating at the palm of your hand.

This beach is also ideal for sunbathing, swimming and strolling along its fine white sand. Located in San Antonio Island, Long Beach is only 10 minutes away from Coco Beach.

Anja, Nanna and Casper hides from the sun at Haligi Beach

After an hour, the group continued to Haligi beach for another hour of snorkeling and picnic lunch. Haligi Beach is ideal for picnic as the limestones and trees provide good cover from the sun while the beach is great for snorkeling.

Enjoying the colorful life that lies underneath the water

Next stop: Agas Beach is located at the far end of the San Antonio Island, facing the Manila Channel. Another good stop for snorkeling. Last stop for the day is the Mangrove Coral Garden. There’s no beach to speak of, this really is a coral garden where you jump off of the boat for snorkeling and swimming. You have to wear life vests on this one if you are not a good swimmer. But this definitely is one of the most beautiful coral gardens in Puerto Galera.

According to the group, they really enjoyed the beautiful marine life of Puerto Galera. And some of them will also try the diving course to explore more the underwater world.

Best buddy’s

This is a nice story how people meet from all over the world and become very good friends because they have one thing in common… DIVING.

Sarah Raida from Denmark, 15 years old, came to Coco Beach last Friday and her biggest wish was to become a PADI Open Water Diver. So she signed up for the course and started watching the videos Saturday morning. Saturday at lunchtime Maeva Hatton from Singapore, 16 years old, arrived at the resort with the same plan… to become an Open Water Diver. She, on the other hand had made all the academics thru PADI’s e-Learning, so she was ready to go into the pool right away.

Neil (in the middle) is learning Sarah (to the left) and Maeva how to navigate on land.

While Sarah was having a lunch break, she met Maeva without knowing they would be taking the same course, so they started talking and suddenly they found out they would be diving together for the next days. And sorry for their parents… that was the last they saw to their daughters. From that moment they were together all the time.

Even after finishing their course Monday morning, they kept on diving as much as they could. If they were not diving they were in the dive center hanging around, checking out the fishes they saw or just having fun with all the other divers.

Wednesday Maeva had to leave again, so Sarah was feeling a bit board… so what better way is there to come over the lost of her best buddy… DIVING. She decided to take her PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course and today Friday she will be finished with her second course during her 1 week stay in Coco Beach.

Crazy Breakfast.

Monday morning there was a big crazy breakfast at the beach. So all divers didn’t have to walk too far after their delicious and healthy breakfast. It was held just in front of the dive center on the beach, so all guests who came to breakfast around 8 o’clock could follow the divers going to their different boats and getting ready to make the first dive of the day.

Crazy breakfast on the beach.

Many divers got small comments from the other guests why they were up so early just to get wet.
