A Postcard for Nitschko from Arlene

Arlene from one of Coco’s Service Families is sending Nitschko a postcard

When visiting Asia, any tourist should take advantage of the opportunity to visit the South East for its beautiful beaches. The Philippines, of course, is at the top of mind as an island getaway. A group of German nationals did just that, spending a relaxing time at Coco Beach Island Resort after their company trip to China.

For 8 days and 7 nights, the group stayed at the resort and created probably one of the best memories of their lives. Charmed by the beauty of the sea, they enjoyed every water adventure possible like kayaking and banana boating. They also sampled food – from Filipino to Asian to Italian-- from all of Coco’s four restaurants. And at the end of each day, the wonderful view of nature while having happy hour drinks relaxed and rejuvenated them for the next day's adventures.

A Postcard for Martin from Glen of Shopping Arcade

Glen of Shopping Arcade is sending Martin a postcard to say thank you and to remind him of the paradise he recently visited

Martin, together with his family, spent six days and five nights at Coco Beach. They stayed in two of our Classic Deluxe rooms. The family spent most of their time hanging out at the poolside – enjoying the water and the wonderful surroundings. They loved dining at the Coco Grill Restaurant not only for its delectable Asian dishes but also for its panoramic view of the sea and the Batangas coastlines. Of course, one couldn’t leave this island without bringing home some souvenirs. So before heading back to Manila, the family bought some shirts from the Shopping Arcade as a reminder of their happiest vacation ever.

Nick and Skye

In a trip to Micronesia, American businessman Nick and his lovely girlfriend Skye got acquainted with Anna, a former employee of Coco Beach Island Resort and her Australian husband. Having heard a lot of good things about the resort, the couple decided to visit the Philippines and check out Coco Beach.

For three nights, the couple enjoyed the wonderful view of the sea as they stayed in a Banana Deluxe room.

But four days and three nights of adventure and communing with nature weren’t enough for the couple. After eight days, they decided to come back to Coco Beach for another three nights. Because life could be more romantic when in Coco, the couple booked a special dinner at the beach with our F&B staff Arvin.

Anna described Coco Beach as one of the best resorts in the Philippines. Nick and Skye seem to agree. When asked about their experience at the resort, said they were so amazed.  “This is more than what we expected.”

The couple loved the natural ambience and architectural design of the resort. But more than that, what sets the place apart is the hospitality of the Coco Beach Staff who never fail to greet them with wonderful smiles.

Puerto Galera set to host most beautiful bays in the world congress

MANILA -- The Philippines will host the highly prestigious 11th World Congress of the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World next year which will showcase Puerto Galera as a prime tourist destination.

The congress, slated for late November 2015, will culminate the Visit the Philippines year. It is expected to attract more than 100 tourism officials from 20 countries who will be looking at Puerto Galera and its capacity to take on an increased number of tourists.

Puerto Galera Most Beautiful Bay Inc. (PGMBBI) head Hubert d’Aboville said Puerto Galera is a good microcosm of the Philippines as a tourism destination.

"In Puerto Galera, we have the beaches, resorts, multiple diving spots, great food, entertainment for the whole family, and the warm hospitality of the Filipinos. During the congress, we are not just showcasing Puerto Galera but we are pushing for Philippine tourism as a whole," d'Aboville said.

The attractions of Mindoro

Puerto Galera is about three-and-a-half hours away from Manila through bus and ferry rides. It has multiple accommodations from one star to five star hotels and resorts.

Puerto Galera is also the gateway to the island of Mindoro and the ancestral territory of eight distinct ethno-linguistic indigenous groups, the Mangyans, who struggle to preserve their cultural identity.

The island of Mindoro offers a great potential for ecotourism development that could in return support the preservation of its natural and cultural heritage including the preservation of the critically endangered Tamaraw, a species of dwarf buffalo strictly endemic to this island.

According to d'Aboville, the World Congress of the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World will be held in Manila with the general assembly in Puerto Galera. The Department of Tourism with its Tourism Promotions Board will be the main sponsors with the local government of Oriental Mindoro and the town of Puerto Galera heavily involved.

For his part, Puerto Galera Mayor Hubbert Christopher Dolor said: "Our community is looking forward to hosting the congress. We take great pride in how we have preserved the natural beauty of Puerto Galera. The lush greenery and the beautiful beaches that we have will be in full display during the congress."

The five-day conference is expected to discuss environmental issues including the challenges and importance of preserving the ecosystem. New bays that are up for inclusion in the Most Beautiful Bays in the World Club will be presented during the congress.

Puerto Galera Bay, which in 2005 became a full member of the Club of the Most Beautiful Bays in the World, is increasingly becoming a favorite destination of European travelers.

The Most Beautiful Bays in the World Club is a UNESCO-supported organization that has been advocating the protection, enhancement, promotion, and commitment of prime bays globally. It also seeks to maintain the balance between the economic development and the conservation of natural heritage.

PGMBBI is a non-profit organization composed of Puerto Galera residents that are responsible for the overall preservation of the Puerto Galera Bay and its coastal environment.
